The Dutch Apple II was built at Scarano Boat Building Inc, in 1986. The boat is derived from popular Hudson River Day-liners of an earlier era.
The day-liners plied the waters of the Hudson River ferrying passengers to and from ports along the way between Albany and New York City.
In designing the boat and whenever practical, Scarano utilized wood species that are both indigenous to the region and traditional for building boats. The result is a blend of classic styling and warm elegance.
